FACILITIES AND LOCATION

 

JNR is situated in District Pakpattan, Pakistan. The district Pakpattan lies between 30-06 and 30-38 North latitudes and 73-03 and 73-36 East longitudes. It is bounded on the North by Sahiwal and Okara district, on the East by Okara district, on the  South-East by Bahawalnagar district and on the West by Vehari district. This district has natural boundaries of River Satluj and Sukh Biyas which depart it from Bahawalnagar district and Sahiwal, Okara district.

Climate

The climate of the district is hot and dry. The summer season starts from April and continues till October. May, June and July are the hottest months. The mean maximum and minimum temperature of these months are about 42 and 28 degree centigrade respectively.

 

The winter season lasts from November to March. December, January and February are the coldest months. Minimum and maximum temperatures for this period are about 5 to 22 degree centigrade respectively. Dry, hot and dusty winds are common during summer. As far as rainfall is concerned the rainfall average of district Pakpattan is about 11.20 inches.

Culture

Local fairs are held on different occasions at different places. People participate in these in a jolly mood and draw pleasure.

City of Saints / Auliya

People of the area religious by nature and due to influence of famous saint Hazrat Baba Farid-ud-Din Masood Ganj-e-Shakar (RA),  shrine of Hazrat Khowaja Aziz Makki (Sahab-e-Rasool, PUUH) and Hazrat Pir Muhammad Akbar Ali Naqshbandi Mujadadi Siddiqi R.A. people often visits shrine. After Multan, Pakpattan is also called the city of Shrines and Saints.

Travel By Air  

 

The nearest international airport is Lahore International, 160 kilometres distance from JNR. Arrangements can be made to meet international students at the airport and personally escort them to the JNR. 

 

Travel By Rail   

 

The closest railway station is Pakpattan station.

 

Social Life & Recreational Facilities

All full-time students of are expected to remain on the campus during term time except for supervised excursions.  The different backgrounds and cultures of the students who originate from many countries around the world provide a diversity and richness of culture from which all the students can benefit.

 

JNR,s students are encouraged to play Cricket, Soccer and other outdoor sports.  Whilst female students will be allowed to use the indoor facilities for sports and fitness.

Islamic Library and Resource Centre

JNR has established a well-equipped Islamic Library, open to both the public and its students. Collections include: VCDs, CDs, videos, audio cassettes, and books in several languages.  There are many classical books (collections of hadiths, tafseer of Quran and other special masterpieces) and contemporary books on various subject areas. Daily Newspapers and Magazines are provided in the reading room.

Education Department

The education department works under the guidance of Sahibzada Hafiz Muhammad Abdul Wahid and Sahibzada Riaz Ahmad Tahir. 

Administration Department

Presently there are four (4) staff members in Administrative Staff, Six (6) in Office Staff and Supporting Staff is twenty (20).
